Sci Fi-ed Classics
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. A Tor.com post – Art History Through Sci Fi-Colored Glasses – brings together an impressive collection of ‘classic’ artworks that have been reincarnated with a Sci-Fi twist.
How about a robotic ‘His Master’s Voice’, a Twilight ’American Gothic’ or a Spiderman & Hobgoblin version of ‘The Runaway’? My favourite is this parody of Rockwell’s ‘Freedom from Want’, but then it does feature Wonder Woman, so I doubt if that’s a surprise!
Check out the full collection, from many different artists around the world, here.

I came across this sweet motion graphics video recently on vimeo.
The Alphabet in Film: How many film titles can you name? It took us a few viewings to get them all.

Help, I’ve cut myself
This is a glorious little find and shows a great use of online video to sell a product and a brand… albiet in quirky way! Help Remedies is a company that takes arguably one of the most fundamental meanings of design (making people’s lives better) very simplistically – basing it’s brand, its thinking and its resultant products around that important word “help”. It also takes a humorous look at other ailments and bothers (we’ve all wanted our cat to be a cover model).
This particular example below manages to create some good out of a bad situation, by providing dressings and a swab kit for bone marrow registration… it even manages to throw a bit of sympathy in too.
Please do have a look at their website, it’s quite a refreshing take on things: http://www.helpineedhelp.com/
