Big Garden Birdwatch

We’re pleased to have been involved with the RSPB annual Big Garden Birdwatch campaign. Alongside providing the video of the final results, we also created a series of animated stings for social media to get people involved with the Birdwatch and submit their results.

The final results video was designed to represent the act of the Birdwatch itself, by looking through home gardens and spotting birds (with the occasional celebrity neighbour!).

Statistics:

The BGBW Final Results Video:

  • Reached over 200K on Facebook (double the reach than in 2018).
  • 110k impressions and 2.2k engagements on Twitter (way above their day to day average)

Social Media Stings:

We tested the water with different styles of animations to see what people engage with the most. From this, we learnt that on Twitter, most people engaged with the animations that counted down to the event.

  • 1 day left to go” tweet and animation received 164.4k impressions, 332 retweets and 592 likes.
  • 5 days left to go” tweet and animation received 67k Impressions, 150 retweets and 533 likes.
